Homesteaded in 1902, Schaff’s Angus Valley is operated by the family’s fifth generation.
Schaff’s Angus Valley was homesteaded in 1902 by Adam Schaff and is now being operated by the family’s fifth generation, Kelly Schaff, along with his wife, Martie Jo, and their family. Registered Angus seedstock have been a part of the ranch since 1944, with the commitment of raising cattle that have the genetic ability to benefit their customers and improve the overall beef cattle industry.

Schaff’s Angus Valley hosts the largest Angus bull sale in North Dakota each February and markets females through the sale and by private treaty. An extensive embryo transfer program generates more than 300 embryo calves each year. Performance testing, artificial insemination and ultrasound are used to evaluate and improve genetics.

The Schaffs are committed to raising cattle with genetics to benefit their customers and the beef industry.
The Schaffs have been honored as breeder of the year by the North Dakota Angus Association, and Kelly has served on the organization’s board of directors. He is also a member of the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association and the Ranchers-Cattlemen Action Legal Fund United Stockgrowers of America, and he has judged Angus shows across the country.
