The headquarters of Tokach Angus Ranch was homesteaded in 1898. Registered Angus cattle were added to the operation in 1950 by Richard M. Tokach. Today his sons, Richard C. and Brad Tokach, along with their families, own and operate the ranch.

The Tokach family strives to produce volume numbers of low-birth-weight, high-growth seedstock that excel in economically important traits and are vital to the success of their commercial customers. Tokach Angus Ranch is a no-frills operation, and genetics are selected for their ability to survive in a low-input environment.

In total, the operation includes about 600 Angus cows and more than 8,000 acres. The cow herd includes Bandolier, Rito and Traveler bloodlines. Artificial insemination is used extensively, and calving is done in early spring. Bulls and females are marketed in an annual production sale each February.

Both Richard and Brad, with their families, have been involved in national and state Angus and beef industry organizations. Working with youth is a priority, especially with local 4-H and FFA groups. Richard currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Angus Association and Certified Angus Beef LLC.
