Whitestone Farm, located near Aldie, was started in 1981 with approximately 100 head of commercial Angus cows. Since its beginnings, its owners, George Lemm, Marvin and Katheryn Robertson, and Tom and Nancy Adracsek, along with managing partner Mark Duffell have grown Whitestone Farm into an elite registered Angus and Red Angus operation.
Today, Whitestone runs 500 registered cows and 150 commercial cows. They utilize three annual production sales to market their genetics. Whitestone owns several dams of major artificial insemination stud bulls, and it owns 36 bulls at major artificial insemination studs.
Whitestone Farm believes strongly in youth in the beef industry. They have been a stop on the National Cattlemens Beef Association Young Cattlemens Conference tour for the past 15 years. They also have an internship program that hires two college students annually to give them a hands-on approach to beef production.
Each year, the farm serves as host to numerous events for youth, agricultural and civic groups. Whitestone Farm received the Angus Journal Land Stewardship Award in 1996; was named Master Breeder at the All-American Angus Futurity in 1998; and was inducted into the Honorary Angus Foundation in 2003, the same year they donated the Angus Foundation Heifer Package.
