Missouri Angus Breeders Showcase, Savannah
Missouri is a state rich in Angus heritage, with many enthusiastic Angus producers. Missouri leads the nation in the number of Association members, and, in fiscal year (FY) 2004, it ranked second and third, respectively, for the number of registrations and transfers.
The first organized state junior Angus association was founded in Missouri, and the Show-Me State hosted the first-ever National Junior Heifer Show in 1969 in Columbia.
Today the Missouri Angus Association is a thriving state organization with a full-time employee. The Missouri Angus Association hosts numerous events each year, including the Missouri Angus Futurity, one of the top-averaging state Angus sales, and an annual tour. This November, the Association will also sponsor a commercial female sale in Springfield.
All Missouri Angus breeders will be invited to showcase some of their cattle at Old MacDonalds Farm, Savannah.
