Brett Erickson of Certified Angus Beef (CAB) LLC challenged all producers to work with the American Angus Association staff and the CAB Supply Development team to produce animals that will meet Certified Angus BeefTM specifications. "The only way to grow the brand is through producing more supply," he said.
He also added, "Grandma's Sunday dinner is gone. During the last 50 years the number of women in the labor force has nearly doubled. However, these women are still responsible for planning and preparing the meal."
He added, "When asking 'what's for dinner' consumers ask:
Is it simple?
Is it convenient?
Is it easy to serve? and
Does it clean up fast?"
The poultry industry more than any other protein has worked to meet these consumer requests. Erickson said the CAB Value Added Products team is building relationships with processors to meet these needs.
